…our basement flooded yesterday. It was SO fun to be dragged out of bed by the kids with a- “Mom, there’s a lot of water in the family room!” Some pipe broke outside and water poured into the family room then into Jake and Josh’s bedroom. It was great!  Oh and our lovesacs (chairs in the family room) are most likely ruined!
Anyway- we didn’t let it get us down- BJ and I went ahead with our plans to construct a home!

Our beautiful home

One of our neighbors invited us over to do this. About three times a week during Christmas season they have people over to make gingerbread houses…something they’ve done for about 40 years now. What a fun tradition!!!

BJ left today for Indiana on business. He’s gone until Thursday. Bummer. Much more fun when he is home!!! Here’s a picture Josh took before BJ left…

SO CUTE!!! BJ and Jen- taken by Joshua

  1. I did not get a chance to look at this today before I called you and so I did this now.
I am so sorry you had that happen. At least it is cleaner water than beckey had.

I love the gingerbread idea–I wish i had the talent to build them. I bet the boys have fun and how much candy do you buy doing it–does any disappear????? It would around me. Love you guys

  3. The reason your replies didn’t go in is because I have to say it’s ok. I was in bed unlike you weird lady! Yes we did the gingerbread from scratch! I went to her house 2 days prior to decorating and helped her make them- and yes the candy disappeared while we made it- but we don’t let the kids touch the stuff on the house- I’m a germ freak- that’s all I see on that candy! Nothing in the boys’ room got ruined- well- the carpet padding did- they need to bring some more of that in once the carpet dries. Love you!
