Gerritt’s Thanksgiving story

I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving already! In celebration I thought I would post Gerritt’s story he wrote for school. I’m posting it with spelling and grammatical errors- it’s cute that way!

This turky loves Thanksgiving. That’s why he’s not an ordinary turky he’s always wanted to be shot but he’s never been shot, he’s so sad.

He lives in the jungle but he’s never been eaten he also wants to be eaten. So he moved to the farm but still no one shot him then he saw an oven so he started to run towerds the oven he tried to (open) the oven then he waited for the farmer to come but it never came so he waited and waited

then he went in a diferint farm then he saw a oven he ran and ran then he crashed into the oven he got up and tuged and pulled but it didn’t open then he saw a key on the counter so he ran and ran then he crashed he got up again then he jumped but he couldent reach so he jumped hirer he couldent reach so he jumped even hirer but he couldent reach so he gave up

then he went to a diferint farm then he saw a oven open then he saw a man “please will you cook me prety please” said the turky. “o I will not cook you a talking turky you shall be my pet my wish has come true” said the farmer. “my wish has come true” said the turky mummbling. then the farmers wife came out “What hapened” said the farmers wife “This turky talks watch say somthing” said the farmer. “Gobble gobble gobble” said the turky. “Don’t lie farmer”said the farmers wife. “Gobble gobble gobble” said the turkey.

So that’s the story of the “turky” that wanted to be eaten, written by our little first grader!
